Lcd Television And The Colour Technology
The newest on the tele ranges is the LED TVs or Liquid Crystal TV’s. These are called as LCD TVs because here the Picture on the tv screen is made by the tiny LEDs. These are far more advanced in showing Pictures in the Televisoin Screen.
The latest models of the LED -TVs are equipped with a technology called Overdrive to reduce the problems of the TV with respect to the Ghosting, and switching to a very bright scene from a black scene or vice versa. This technolgy takes advantage of the LEDs emit beams of set strength for more than 22milli-seconds in displaying images the screen. This time added to the refresh rate for the LEDs are usually enough for displaying the movie programme based material in a better way than the standard CRT based Teles.
Due to the improvements in design the latest LED teles are able to get around the Ghosting problem to a very great extent.
At the moment all the Colours in the RGB spectrum are shown to offer a live look to the Colour images, still thesecolours lack the richness in their colour. So makers are looking to find the ways of adding more colours and shades of colors on the Screen and also experimenting with extending colour reproduction of LCD Televisions.
As colour reproduction is the best aspect of a Tele, research is still on to show more colours by using fourth, or even fifth and sixth colour in the optical Colour filter array,or to use two sets of suitabe narrowband backlights with slightly differing Colours, in combination with broadband optical filters in the board, and alternating backlights for each consecutive frame.
Thus more and more techniques are being invented and built into in the newest LED- TVs which are going to increase our viewing pleasure.
