Welcoming The Newest Addition To The Berry Family ? The Blackberry Curve 8910
If you ask professionals, business men and other working people what their smart phone of choice is, a majority would surely tell you that it is BlackBerry. This is because the brand has gained a reputation for coming out with solid, highly useful and very efficient smart phones in the past.
This is because of the Canadian wireless giant, Research in Motion (otherwise known as RIM), which is the company behind this brand of smart phones. RIM has continually shown aptitude for coming out with great additions to the Berry family to keep their millions of users and fans happy and contented. And now, we are set to welcome the newest addition to the continuously growing line of smart phones from this brand, the BlackBerry Curve 8910.
There are several leaks on the internet about this mobile phone, which is yet to be confirmed by on an official basis by RIM. It appears to be a pretty good upgrade to what has been one of the company’s best sellers since it was launched last year – the Curve 8900. It also resembles the Bold 9700 very closely.
Rumors about the Phone
There were two major rumors surrounding the phone when it was first brought to the attention of the public. The first was that it will not be sold in the US, which caused a small uproar among American fans of the Berry. However, latest news have confirmed that the BlackBerry Curve 8910will be available not only in Asia and Europe, but in the US as well. So that is one rumor debunked.
The second rumor was that it will not have 3G connectivity, much to the consternation of a lot of smart phone users who are looking for this feature. Thankfully, this was proven untrue as well since there was confirmation that it will not only have 3G, but also evolved EDGE which has a much faster downlink data speed (up to 473 kbps).
The third rumor is that the phone will be available in Asia and Europe during the first quarter of 2010. To date, this is still unconfirmed since RIM hasn’t announced the official launching date yet.
Confirmed Features of the Phone
The mobile phone is confirmed to have GPS and a-GPS (or assisted Global Positioning System), which is perfect for using satellite navigation technology in order to help the user locate an unfamiliar locale. It also has GPRS support, evolved EDGE (with DLDC), radio quad-band GSM, and even LatRed support.
It comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, a high speed microUSB port, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1.
