What You Should Do Before Reinstalling Windows

This Is what You Should What  Do Before Reinstalling Windows

Many times the Windows operating system over time can become slow.  As applications are installed and deleted from the system, there is a tendency for the operating system to eventually start to slow down.  Many times installing Windows again will make your system act like it did when you first purchased your computer with a clean install.  While this is always an option to consider be sure to check a few other things first before going to such extreme measures.

The first is to do a complete backup.  This is good advice regardless if your computer is currently running slow with problems or is perfectly fine.  Be sure that after you do make a backup of all your important files that you do delete some of the un-necessary information and especially pictures that reside on your hard drive to allow additional space on your machine.  This extra space is needed in order for your computer to run most efficiently.  It’s also important to make sure you have a backup of all your applications so that you can install them again.

One thing that you should do whenever you have any computer issue at all is to be sure that you run a complete full system virus and spyware scan.  These are generally the reason for most computer problems.  Get these issues off your computer first.  In many cases afterwards everything will be fine.

Instead of installing the operating system again, you can always repair it.  This is an option that you will have on your Windows restore disks.  This means that you can fix an issue within the operating system without getting rid of all your programs and files.

Something else to try is running a registry scanning program.  These won’t fix everything but at times it can patch up whatever errors or corruptions that are found in this database.  These are known to help improve the speed of computers when real problems are actually fixed.

If none of these help you, installing the operating system again will take care of whatever issues you are having so your computer runs almost like new again.

One option for a Windows machine is to simply install the operating system again.  However, as explained above, before you do this, be sure to check a few other things first to make sure you don’t have to go through all the effort when it’s an easy fix.
